A NEW PROGRAM UNDER DEVELOPMENT.
Feb 2008, At this point I've not worked on the development of the frame program as I've been exploring several different software tools. Java might be the way to go as it's platform independant. I also like Flash but it's not able to talk to the local drive due to security concerns, maybe they will allow that in future versions... It's hard to say when i can resume as I have two children and one, my daughter, has autism and has thrown our life for a loop and now spend alot of time with my children and my daughter. I was able to update the BeamPro so it will work on Vista, this was a relief as I thought XP was the end of the road.. But MS allowed complete migration of VB applications except for the help system. 2007 was a great year for BeamPro and now 2008 is looking very nice as well. Thanks for all your support! Stay Tuned.

| May 11th. No progress on the program but... Same as Sept 9th. I'm in my new house and have a office to work at but I'm beginning to learn the new MS VB.NET which is a major difference in vb 6.0. I want to use the new tool to program the frame program in so I don't know how long this will take. hmmm.. Sept 9th. I've started work on a complete frame analysis program. This program will do 2d frames as well as beams. The loading conditions will be similar to BeamPro as it will have uniform, varying uniform, external moment and point loads. The members will also be able to have hinges. The supports will have the options of restraints in Axial, Shear and Rotation along with support settlements. This program will be fully graphical. I will not put out all the details as I'm confident that this program will compare with others that are very expensive and I'm keeping the cat in the bag. I plan to begin selling the program for about $75 USD. This program can take many moons so I'll post updates here time to time. I plan to offer this program at a very reduced price to all current BeamPro customers. So if you purchase BeamPro you will have the opportunity to have it at a reduced rate. Sept 15th. The graphical interface is only 5% thus far as I'm pondering the implementation of my ideas. Nov 22 Jan 5 Well not alot has happened on the frame program over the holidays. I intend to jump back on the frame program shortly. I've been sick on February 7th. Back on the frame program. I'm working on the data input. It looks like it will be a tab type form with scrolling to see all the data. I've tried a couple of different methods and I've not completely satisfied. I'm making it so the main graphics page will be viewable as the data is entered and the joints, members and loading will display as it's entered. I have it draw the joints and they are numbered. Next is to work on the members which should be a bit easier. The loading will take some time. I still have to finish the routine to allow hinges and support settlements. I think the hinges will be a good addition but really do not see the settlement portion a real big attraction. I try to gear my programs for the "working" engineer and work to keep it simple and not convoluted. The addition of the mentioned parts will only take a night or so. The program so far can read and write a ascii data file and run the analysis and give a report. I need to get the graphical aspect done and cleaned up. April 22nd Progress is slow. I've been working very slowly, maybe a 1/2 hour a week. I'm in the process of selling my current house and building another along with working out a deal with a local company to program in visual basic. I will continue!! July 19th Well the program draws the joints, members and supports. I'm October 20th No progress in the last 2 months as i'm building a new home. Hope to resume after i move in in the middle of december. THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT
